Wintertime

It has been a while since our last post here, but our 'hardcore' followers have noticed without a doubt that we've been busy.

Never not training
OLDSCHOOL?
Planning a new mountainbike season with tactical considerations is a mission on it's own.
Starting up a coaching program with all that goes with it is a time swallowing occupation.
Training in winter in Belgium is mostly according to weather conditions and balancing between job and freetime.
Saving cash for our new bikes and accreditations for competitions.

Does this all seem we're complaining?
Not for a second.

Good news from most of our partners who will be supporting us again in 2019.
Respect from colleagues, family and friends who sometimes say we must be crazy.
Riding superbikes throughout the year.

That makes it all worth.

Speaking of sponsors, partners and ambassadors, we are very proud to be partnering with the organisation of the 'Grand Raid Godefroy'. This mythical race will be a UCI World Marathon Series event, and to create more visibility, they asked us to promote their event widely.

Proud ambassadors

First upcoming race will be the 'Roc LAISSAGAIS' in France. Although she will be participating in a winterduathlon in two weeks and then a week later, Sara will be racing a UCI Cyclocross here in our garden. This will be a small test to see whether we can be optimistic our if we should adapt training.
Fingers crossed...

This year due to  circumstances we were obliged to spend more money on our bikes, and we want to make it an even better year as last one. So Sara came up with the plan to make some extra cash to pay all our accreditation fees. We're starting up officially the 'Crankbrothers Racing Team' and we'll be passing through our experience in trainingplanning and coaching as well on as off the bike.
Check our website for more info.
If this works out, we will be able to spend more time on our bikes, and Sara can get some more rest in between races.

On the other hand, this is a great opportunity for our sponsors. Our network will expand and so we can be even better ambassadors for them.
It's not always easy to pass the word during competitions, and persuading people who are also in the middle of the circus; isn't that effective. 😏

We already managed to get through the wintertraining for a couple of months now and all is going according to plan.
Winter in Belgium is a bit sketchy, because we try not to adapt too much to the weatherconditions, although sometimes it's nearly impossible to ride outside. It's getting dark when we come home from work, it's too often too wet, and temperatures below zero to do some LSD rides are not what we call ideal situations.

SO, that's all for now.

Feel free to like and/or share our adventures.
