(HE)LCMT

Past 4 days we've spent in Houffalize for the LCMT. 4 days of long distance racing and a good preparation for the Transalp. That's what we had in mind. First day was easy, not too heavy, and never in difficulties. Second day was a little different. First 30k's were neutralised. Sara felt strong and we decided to race against the clock. At about 15k's Sara hits an aluminum profile that was meant to bridge some flowing water. She hits it with her front large chainring; and afterwards; after she could not gear down anymore; we checked the bike and three teeth of the large chainring were gone... Due to this, she broke a screw in the rear derailleur. End of race, but not the end of our event. So we thought. After reparing chainring and derailleur, we did not manage to change gears properly. I then looked a bit further, and the LCMT became the HelLCMT. Broken frame near the direct mount front derailleur. The whole piece was almost ripped out of the frame. Sara's too strong, or the frame not strong enough? I'll leave it in the middle... This morning we came home earlier, and already stripped the frame, so hopefully CANYON has some replacement frames in stock. I'll keep you informed later. Otherwise, LCMT was good organisation, nice tracks, and nice people. Small detail: the indication arrows were too small and not always at the right place. Carry on LCMT
