This weekend would be a very hard 3 day race. Last year not present due to broken wrist. Peter already survived the 2013 edition. The weather conditions last year where terrible. All finishers then looked totally wrecked after tree days of heavy rain.
This year the weatherforecast was more optimistic: sunny and hot, but the race would be hard again. 12 girls started on friday for a ride of 55KM, not a very long distance but we had to overcome 2000 altitude meters. I started out great and finished 10th after a sprint with Katja Cauwenberg who past me during the last climb, the last downhill I gave it everything and we finished sprinting.

Saturday morning still 10 girls at the start of the race. Two dutch girls quit for different reasons. So top 10 was a fact. The day went great, Peter was stronger and catched me somewhere in the first 20KM. He raced to the first feedstation so I didn't had to stop. We raced together and catched up Katja who had technical problems and Alicia Franck. In the last 10K's I catched up with Inne Bertels and we sprinted to the finish. And made it to a 7th place.
Sunday morning I was not feeling very well. The legs where heavy and drained. At the first climb every one past me I told Peter to ride on because it would not get better any time soon. In the first 20 KM I broke my chain, luckily there where some very friendly bikers who helped me fix the chain in no time. So I restarted racing to keep the time lost to a minimum. After the first feedstation I past Peter who was helping some other guys out with there chain. By the second feedstation he catched me up again and we decided to just finish. The drama was not over yet, in the last K's I had a flat tire. We fixed it and finished the race in six hours. After 3 days I'm 8th in the GC and very happy WE SURVIVED BeMC :)

If it's the hardest, I cannot tell; but Koenraad (BeMC organiser) did his very best to track out some difficult parts, relayed by some more difficult parts; and if it wasn't enough; on the first day he made us do it twice.... Thanks mate.

Thanks for the great company to all my new teammates (Smart Cycling Marathon Team) and every one else at the table for dinner! Thanks to the organisation of the BeMC for the great international race! Thanks to
SPORTS2,
Crankbrothers and
Canyon!
And because I have to: "To all the guys throwing away their trash along the trails: GO SPOIL YOUR OWN YARD !!!"
