Roc d'ardenne in Houffalize

First big appointment of our MTB season was the Roc d'Ardenne Marathon. The race was scheduled on sunday, but we decided to travel to Houffalize early on saturday so we could do the recce of the startclimb and could get our startingnumbers without the crowd on sundaymorning. Once again the Smart Cycling Team helped us out by providing a nice and quiet place to put our camper.
At the race office the guys from the Belgian Union told Sara she coulnd't wear her usual Baloise outfit. Due to some UCI regulations which concern the "Elite" riders. Sara bought a neutral shirt on the site. No more stress involved. We're looking for a solution for the rest of the season. More news next week about our planning. About the race I can be really short: Sara was TOP Peter was FLOP... Sara rode a magnificant race between some great much more experienced female European riders. Well done baby. Results About me: good race till 50km. Cramps in both adductors. The race was 81k's long, so for once I could only appreciate the great nature, the wonderful tracks, and the around 40 riders who passed me in the last 20k's... :-( After analising the data from my POLAR, I probably didn't ate enough. Lack of experience riding alone and not at Sara's side I presume. Preparing now, after a good mix of rest and training, for the BeMC. 3 days of La Roche en Ardenne on the bike in hopefully good weather, and with some beautiful people around us on the bike.
